PLANT, MACHINERY & LABORATORY CATALOGUE

The details that
make a plant work.

A practical procurement and readiness scope covering production equipment, test facilities, utilities and quality infrastructure.

Planning scope, tailored to your item.

This catalogue combines specification-linked test capabilities with engineering recommendations. It is not a certified mandatory equipment schedule. Confirm in-house requirements, permitted external laboratory arrangements, machine capacities and acceptance limits against the latest controlled RDSO documents before procurement.

LABORATORY & QUALITY SYSTEMS

Measure precisely.
Decide confidently.

Build test capability around the product, the specimen and the prescribed method. Equipment selection includes fixtures, calibration, environmental conditions, operator training and reporting.

  • ERC: hardness, metallography, toe load, dimensional fit, crack detection and drawing-specific performance tests.
  • HVN: thermal, density, ash, hardness, tensile, flexural, viscosity and electrical-insulation test capability.
  • Both: traceable calibration, sample identification, controlled records and inspection readiness.

MATERIAL-SPECIFIC ENGINEERING

HVN and GFN.
Keep the requirements distinct.

HVN-66 liners

High viscous nylon-66 requires its own raw-material qualification and test route. The reviewed IRS T-44-2023 reference specifies testing on as-moulded HVN liners.

GFN-66 liners

Glass-filled nylon has a different composition and conditioning regime. GFN water-conditioning and absorption requirements should not be transferred into the HVN scope.

RDSO VENDOR APPROVAL SUPPORT

A clear pathway.
Prepared at every stage.

Apex supports the preparation and execution of the vendor-development journey. RDSO and the competent railway authorities retain the assessment and approval decision.

01

Define the item

Identify the product, drawing and alteration. Obtain the current specification, STR and applicable UVAM item requirements.

02

Establish readiness

Review manufacturing eligibility, works infrastructure, ISO 9001 scope, personnel and equipment gaps.

03

Prepare the dossier

Assemble legal and works documents, declarations, machinery registers, calibration records, QAP and supporting evidence.

04

Submit through UVAM

Use the prescribed online application route, supporting documents and applicable charges. Follow current portal instructions.

05

Address scrutiny & CCA

Respond to observations and demonstrate installed capacity, manufacturing controls, testing and traceability during assessment.

06

Qualify gauges & samples

Complete item-specific gauge checks, trial manufacture and witnessed or prescribed sample testing as directed.

07

Meet listing conditions

Follow the applicable developmental or approved-vendor route and any prototype clearance or field-performance conditions.

08

Maintain & progress

Meet inspection and performance obligations. Maintain audit readiness and apply for upgradation or status changes when eligible.

ERC approval workstream

Confirm the exact clip variant; map the current IRS T-31 and TDG 0044 requirements; qualify raw-material sourcing, heat-treatment controls, drawing-specific gauges and clip performance. Prepare trial-lot records and sample testing for the applicable route. Initial process/product inspection and bulk-production clearance follow the current item instructions and contract.

HVN approval workstream

Map the current IRS T-44 and TDG 0005 requirements to the selected liner drawing. Establish resin qualification, drying, mould and cavity identification, process records, dimensional gauges and polymer test arrangements. Keep raw-material, type/specimen and finished-liner test evidence separate; follow prescribed sample submission and assessment instructions.

Documentation & assessment checklist
  • Entity, ownership, works-address and authorized-signatory documents.
  • Factory layout, machinery register, invoices and installation evidence.
  • ISO 9001 certificate with appropriate manufacturing scope and works address.
  • QAP: incoming, process and final inspection; sampling; release and rejection control.
  • Instrument register, calibration certificates, reference standards and due dates.
  • Personnel qualifications, training and assigned quality responsibilities.
  • Raw-material certificates, batch/heat traceability and consumption records.
  • Internal tests, gauge records, trial-production and corrective-action evidence.
  • Applicable undertakings, online forms, fees and current item-specific annexures.
Registration, e-tendering & approval are distinct

The reviewed application directive QO-D-8.1-5 v2.6 (23 July 2025) states that furnishing digital-signature details is optional at fresh registration and IREPS registration is not required for fresh registration. Digital-signature/IREPS arrangements for e-tender participation are separate. Use the current controlled directive and portal requirements for your application.

Read the official application directive

The sequence can overlap or vary by item. Fees, timelines, sample quantities and upgradation criteria are governed by current official requirements; approval is not guaranteed by consultancy.
